Golden Era Begins (1958-1970)

This period is considered the golden age of Brazilian football.

1958 – First World Cup Title (Sweden)

  • A 17-year-old Pelé burst onto the global scene.
  • Brazil played beautiful attacking football and won their first title.

1962 – Second Title (Chile)

  • Even with Pelé injured early in the tournament, Brazil’s depth—especially star Garrincha—carried them to victory.

1970 – Third Title (Mexico)

  • Often considered the greatest team of all time.
  • Pelé led a squad filled with legends (Jairzinho, Rivelino, Carlos Alberto).
  • Dominant play culminated in a 4–1 win over Italy in the final.
